TS Dual Meet Grappling Season Comes to a Close

The February 25th meet between Team Voodoo and the Tri-State Titans officially marked the end of the first season of the Tiger Schulmann’s Dual-Meet Submission Grappling Season. Beginning in August of 2006, this season saw 4 teams, comprised of the best and brightest grapplers in the organization (hand-picked by the head instructor of their respective schools) compete in a total of 6 matches, with each team facing the other 3 teams once. A hugely successful effort, this inaugural grappling season continues to keep Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts at the forefront of MA training by providing a new venue for students and coaches to challenge and motivate themselves, as well as improve their grappling skills as they train and compete with the best in the organization. We’d like to commend the team members and coaches of all 4 teams for their desire to step up, compete in a more challenging environment and take their grappling skills to the next level.

With the season now officially in the books, we look forward to the formation of the TSG Elite Grappling Team, which will be comprised of the top-ranked grapplers from these 4 teams – the best of the best. These grapplers will then be invited by the Shihans and senior trainers to special training sessions to prepare them for regional and national competitions throughout the spring and summer of 2007.

We also look forward to the beginning of the 2007-2008 grappling season, which is slated to start in October or November of 2007.
