PRESS RELEASE (New Jersey) – The New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame is extremely proud of its sixth class of inductees to the New Jersey Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This class will be honored at the sixth dinner gala to be held at The Event Center in iPlay America in Freehold, NJ on December 1, 2017.
On December 1st, Ronnie Schulmann will be inducted as TRAINER.
Growing up as the younger brother of Danny “Tiger” Schulmann, martial arts has always been a part of life, beginning at the young age of eight. This included daily training sessions, with weekends spent going to martial arts and wrestling competitions. Those experiences combined with being the default sparring partner for his brother, have helped to hone Ron Schulmann’s skills into a world class martial artist in his own right.
After leaving college in 1987 to help his brother grow the expanding Tiger Schulmann’s organization, Ron Schulmann has played an important role in the growth of the Tiger Schulmann’s Martial Arts organization to over 40 schools in the tri-state area today with more on the way.
As the Chief Organizational Instructor of TSMA, Ron Schulmann has been responsible for teaching all TSMA’s instructors their unique mixed martial arts curriculum as well as influencing them on how to become a positive and integral part of their local communities.
As one of the coaches of the ultra-successful Team Tiger Schulmann, Ron Schulmann has played a key role in catapulting the team to success in such regional events as the NY Golden Gloves, Ring of Combat, Cage Fury Fighting Championships, all the way up to the top tier of combat fighting promotions including Bellator and the UFC. His team’s notable fighters include such alumni as Nick Pace (UFC fighter and inventor of “The Pace Choke”), Louis Gaudinot (UFC and TUF star), Julio Arce (UFC Contender Series winner), Shane Burgos (current UFC contender), Lyman Good (former Bellator champion and current UFC star) and Jimmie Rivera (UFC star and #3 ranked Bantamweight in the world).
Along with his induction into the Hall of Fame, five of Ron Schulmann’s long time and current students have also been inducted into the Hall: Munah Holland, Dave Tirelli, Lyman Good, and Paul Querido as well as this year’s induction of Jimmie Rivera.
Ron Schulmann resides in Bergen County, New Jersey with his wife and three children.
