A bout between top 15 flyweights Louis Gaudinot (6-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Tim Elliott (9-3-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is set for UFC 164 in Milwaukee.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
UFC 164 takes place Aug. 31 at Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook. Gaudinot vs. Elliott likely will be part of the prelims.
Elliott is currently ranked No. 9 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie.com MMA flyweight rankings. Gaudinot is ranked No. 12.
Gaudinot most recently rebounded from a UFC-debut loss to Johnny Bedford, which snapped a four-fight win streak, with a submission victory over John Lineker. That action-packed bout earned both fighters “Fight of the Night” bonuses. Gaudinot, though, hasn’t been in action since the May 2012 fight due to injuries.
Elliott, meanwhile, recently earned a decision victory over Jared Papazian in December that earned “Fight of the Night” honors. Prior to that, Elliott made his UFC debut but snapped an eight-fight win streak with a close decision loss to John Dodson.
