Though we offer various martial arts classes here at Tiger Schulmann’s, one that has grown to be our most popular across the board is kickboxing. This discipline, which first originated in America around the 1970s, blends the techniques of various martial arts styles. Specifically, it grabs much of its inspiration from Muay Thai.
As an organization that is built around offering top-of-the-line martial arts classes, the team here at Tiger Schulmann’s has worked long and hard to develop kickboxing classes that provide an unmatched level of instruction. Available for both children and adults, our kickboxing program combines both self-defense and fitness, giving our students the best of both worlds when they step into the gym. Not to mention, the techniques we focus on are incredible stress relievers, making our classes a place to relax and release any tension too.
Adults vs. Kids
Regardless of age, you’ll receive a total body workout by participating in a kickboxing class you can certainly expect to see increased stamina, strength and flexibility in yourself. Additionally, you’ll work on your balance and coordination, which aids in our efforts to make you feel much more empowered.
Particularly for adults, we really hone in on the Muay Thai aspect of martial arts and demonstrate how to succeed in standing combat. For kids, we start off by getting them familiar with the concept of self-discipline, then we detail real life situations where self-discipline comes into play. By integrating this type of education into our classes, our younger students learn how to maintain control and achieve success in various aspects of life from an early age.
Last, but definitely not least, the fighting techniques we emphasize in a kickboxing class are striking with hands, feet, elbows and knees. We also spend much of our time on blocking so that our students are prepared for anything that comes their way.
