TSMMA Cherry Hill Student Turns Life Around with Kickboxing and MMA
A good friend of mine told me over a year ago, “You really need this.” Perhaps you are like I was then. Back then I was a person that was always stressed at work, with family, and with life in general. I was a middle-aged overweight man at 260 lbs and could barely lean over to tie my shoes. I was completely out of shape; getting out of breath climbing up a single flight of stairs and barley getting off the floor without a struggle. It led to me having no self-confidence.
Most importantly, I feel extremely confident that I can defend myself and protect my family if necessary.
After I finally listened to my friend, Joshu Curt Mount, I came in for a Beginner Kickboxing class during a Buddy Week. I had never had any martial arts training in my life prior to that class. After the class I could barely move from being so sore, but at the same time I felt great. Once I started, I never looked back. Now I look back at who I was THEN and am so proud of who I am NOW. Now I train 3 times a week and get the best stress relief, “a little mini vacation.” I am no longer overweight, I have lost 45 lbs and still losing. I am much more flexible. I can tie my shoes easily and without losing my breath. I recently carried a window air conditioner up two flights of stairs and recovered my breath very quickly. I am able to get up and down multiple times in a single class AND continue to work-out and feel good about myself. Most importantly, I feel extremely confident that I can defend myself and protect my family if necessary.
