TSMMA Manhattan 11 year old Student Makes Boxing Debut
On Saturday August 18th, Eric Rodriguez of Manhattan Tiger Schulmann’s in Chelsea, NYC stepped into the ring for the first time at Willis Avenue Boxing Gym in the Bronx,NY. At first, it seemed there would be no opponent the same age, weight and experience level for him but he went anyway in hopes they would find someone at the last minute. And they did. Eric agreed to compete against another young fighter from Willis Avenue Gym who was also looking for a first fight win. However, Eric had an arsenal of stiff quick jabs, powerful cross and hook punches, excellent head movement and foot work. Eric’s opponent had strong quick punches that Eric evaded with ease. However tough, his opponent was no match for Eric. Eric not only showed great skill, he also showed great sportsmanship and professionalism beyond his years. He made everyone at Tiger Schulmann’s very proud and we look forward to seeing him back in the ring soon!
