One out of every 4 women in America has been or will be the victim of attempted or completed sexual assault. Ages 13-34 are the highest risk years of an attack. Fifty-four percent of these occurrences are never reported to the police. …These statistics are not meant to scare, but rather to bring awareness to the fact that we can ALL afford to learn how to properly defend ourselves…AND WE SHOULD. Woman’s Self Defense is an extremely important topic.
Tiger Schulmann’s will be holding its annual WomanSafe: woman’s self defense, personal awareness and rape prevention seminar on Wednesday December 10, 2014 @ 7:00 pm.
This informative seminar will consist of two parts. The first part being a lecture that will bring out some simple points of things you may do every day that you didn’t realize may be putting you at risk. The second part is a hands on woman’s self defense seminar that will bring out some vital concepts and techniques that could be used a real life situation.
Joshu Christine Zapfel co-wrote this safety seminar about 15 years ago and has presented it on national television, the TODAY show and GOOD MORNING AMERICA, among others. Years ago she also presented this program to a group of over 1,000 women in Central Park. All the national acclaim this program has received is reason enough to attend.
All current students are urged to attend and bring a female friend or relative. This is a free community service and is open to the public. Woman’s self defense is every woman’s responsibility. Reservations are required as space is limited.
