A Day With Tigers pt. 2 – Jimmie Rivera

Jimmie River blasting Jared Papazian

As one of the top bantamweight prospects in MMA today, former KOTC bantamweight (145) & flyweight (135) champ Jimmie Rivera (11-1-0) stands poised to show the world he is ready for the big time.

This Thursday, Rivera will join Tiger Schulmann teammates Lyman Good & Carlos Brooks in Atlantic City, NJ for Bellator 95, broadcasting live from Revel Casino & Resort.

Standing opposite the cage from him will be native New Yorker Brian Kelleher (8-3-0) of Team Bombsquad. Kelleher is on a 4-fight win streak (all finishes), however this pales in comparison to Rivera’s impressive 10-fight streak.

For Rivera, it will be a homecoming, having fought many a time in Atlantic City’s own Ring of Combat, much like stablemate Lyman Good.

Originally, four TS fighters were supposed to compete on the card but in an unfortunate turn of events, Munah Holland will not be fighting due to her opponent (Jessica Eye) suffering a back injury in training.

In part two of A Day With Tigers in which I spent the day interviewing, training and filming at Tiger Schulmann fighter HQ, Jimmie talks about the upcoming fight and touches on a possible date with former division champ Joe Warren.
